PLAYGROUND IS AN INTERACTIVE PRINT AND DIGITAL PUBLICATION POSITIONED TO ENTERTAIN, ENGAGE AND INFORM STUDENTS AT UTS.
Conceived as an antidote to academia, Playground’s content is themed seasonally around significant campus events. Interactivity is a key aim of the magazine, so advertisements are limited and must feature something of tangible value to students – a special discount, competition or giveaway. These benefits are then cross-promoted through social media and digital channels.
With an emphasis on entertainment, the portable sized publication is packed with interviews, games, challenges, student articles, trivia and factoids. As reflected by the magazine’s name and tagline (Playground – Your UTS Pick-me-up), the overall design is fun, positive, colourful, quirky and relevant to each issue’s changing theme.
