OKTOBERFEST AT UTS HAS STEADILY BECOME A SOCIAL HIGHLIGHT OF SECOND SEMESTER. THIS YEAR, THREE CLUBS COMBINED FORCES TO PULL OFF THE BIGGEST BAVARIAN CELEBRATION YET. SPANNING DAY AND NIGHT, THE FESTIVITIES INVOLVED A BEER TASTING TENT, GERMAN FOOD STALLS, A JUMPING CASTLE, OOMPAH-PAH BAND AND A DANCE PARTY.
An inaugural brand was developed for the event to give club organisers the best possible promotional opportunities and support. Providing consistency and recognition for the annual event will continue to build the brand from strength to strength.
The flexible design is inclusive of all the day’s activities and aims to appeal to a wide demographic of students. Rather than using traditional kitsch imagery, a more sophisticated colour palette and style based on a vintage beer label was put forward. In this vein, the logo incorporates elements from the famous Munich Oktoberfest ferris wheel, while the poster  introduces essential Oktoberfest icons – a beer stein, grilled bratwurst, pretzel and Tyrolean hat.
These elements were configured across the UTSU website, Facebook page, digital screens and teaser video, as well as printed promotional items and merchandise: posters, flyers, T-shirts, beer coasters and tattoos.
